Employee Engagement Wins: McGraw-Hill Higher Education Makes It Hip to Be Square with Custom Cubed Shirts

With 1,000 cube-compressed shirts in custom packaging to create a geometric brand look and feel, Branded Merchandising Group made a simple T-shirt and box squarely hit the target.

The Opportunity
McGraw-Hill Education (MHE) launched their #RedCubeProud employee engagement campaign which went viral when its president proudly sported a red branded T-shirt during a video town hall meeting. The demand skyrocketed for the shirt that BMG initially did for a single small event. The Higher Education Division wanted a unique way to distribute 1,000 copies of this T-shirt individually to its entire division of remote field sales teams, office and operations staff.

The Challenge
The BMG team had to ensure each shirt was perfectly packed by size, personalized and correctly shipped to all remote and on-site employees—all in a memorable and timely way.

The Solution
Steve brainstormed with the customer and finally came to recommend a custom package including the compressed T-shirt presented inside a red cube box to match the logo with a note from the division president. The cube was then placed inside another cube for shipping to individuals, labeled with the person’s name and shirt size for customization delivered with class.

The Result
The project was delivered swiftly through BMG’s production and fulfillment teams to each employee and the cubed shirts were a smash hit increasing employee morale and furthering the #RedCubeProud movement within the company.
